COMMUNICATONS:   Responsible for preparing, publishing, and distributing Unit Newsletters; maintains Unit web site; establishes an operating 'Telephone Tree' to coordinate meeting information, etc. to the membership.
HISTORIAN / ARCHIVES :   Collects photographs and relevant memorabilia of Unit activities and prepares an annual scrapbook album;  maintains records of Unit history, including officer listings, deceased members list, Unit awards and recognitions, etc.
INFORMATION SERVICES:  Provides a variety of practical information to  members relating to health care, personal finance, insurance, and safety matters.
LEGISLATIVE:  Promotes state legislation which better meets the needs of all Florida retirees;encourages Unit members to support the State Chair in the production of the FREA legislative program as it relates to Florida retirees. 
MEMBERSHIP:  Contacts newly retired educators each year; provides information describing the Unit Goals and Purposes; extends invitation to join; encourages and supports new members to strengthen friendships and participation in Unit activities.
RETIREMENT PLANNING:  Plans, organizes, and conducts the annual pre-retirement seminar program for active educators and non-instructional personnel; promotes knowledge and understanding of the programs of the local Unit.
SCHOLARSHIP:  Supports the state FREF scholarship committee in promoting available college scholarships for students majoring in Education; identifies qualified local students as recipients of Unit scholarships.
SUNSHINE:  Honors member birthdays, communicates 'get well' and 'sympathy' messages to members; appoints and supports 'Hospitality Hosts' providing refreshments for meetings.
VOLUNTEER SERVICES: Encourages volunteerism and reporting of volunteer hours by Unit members; provides information about volunteer value and opportunities.
