      NCREA SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Malvin L. Lofton Memorial Scholarship fund initiated by Mr. Stanley Lofton is now sponsored by our NCREA.  So far, three very deserving students have each received a $500 award.  Fund-raising activities our Unit has recently done have so far added $280 from a Bakeless Bake Sale and a Calendar Cup Challenge.
Donations to this worthy opportunity can be made to our Unit treasurer at any time.

MEMBERSHIP MOMENTS
EACH ONE BRING ONE !
  Membership Chair Shirley Baker urges each member to actively seek out and invite retired educator friends - many folks have indicated interest in our organization but just need reminders.
 Do your part - tell friends that joining is smart;
 our members are fun and full of heart !
And NCREA membership increases your clout
with politicians to maintain our Pension Fund,
as well as opening a plethora of benefits you will find out.

VOLUNTEER SERVICES COMMITTEE

  CHAIRMAN JOYCE PATTEN

Remember to record all your volunteer hours of service you do for our community - anything you volunteer as  'non-reimbursed' time at church, schools, agencies, hospitals, civic groups, REA, etc. should be recorded.
Your hours of service can be identified as benefitting either 'adult' or 'youth'.

The Volunteer Services Hours Report must be collected in February, so please be diligent in your personal reporting.
Volunteer Hours of FREA members are summed up and equated to monetary value in the spring.  This information is part of our collective influence to the State Legislature indicating the real significance of retired educators in the state.
